Their Story...

Andrew:

I am originally from San Antonio, Texas, and my parents started attending Remnant Fellowship Church in 2001 when I was just a baby. We moved to Nashville, Tennessee, in 2004, and I was raised attending this church, growing up to love God through going to the services and summer camp. The close friendships that started when I was very young have continued through today, and that is such a blessing from God.

After living in Tennessee for several years, my dad’s work took us back to San Antonio in 2012. Leaving my friends and the local community was a test for me, but I was able to still stay in touch with my friends and talk to them almost every night, so we remained very close. We stayed active with Remnant Fellowship by webcasting every assembly and visiting in person several times a year. There were also fellow Remnant members in Texas whom I grew close to and who were in a similar situations to me, so we were able to encourage each other and build strong friendships.

Jaquelyn is the most pure, God-loving, and honest woman I have ever met. She is very thoughtful in everything that she does, and she inspires me daily to want to do better. When I am with Jaquelyn, I am always in a better mood, because she is always very fun to be around. I am so grateful and glad that God put her into my life. - Andrew

In 2017, my family was able to move back to Tennessee, which was such a blessing! It was so good to be back and be able to attend church in person. I started making new friends locally along with the old friends I had kept in close touch with. I was able to attend all church services and youth gatherings again. As I entered late teens/college-age, I met a beautiful girl at church whom I had never talked to before, named Jaquelyn Mentessi. Her family had been living in New York when they joined church, and they moved to Tennessee while I had been living in Texas, so I had never officially met her or talked to her before. We got along so well, and we could talk about anything with each other and stay talking for hours. Within a couple of weeks of getting to know one another, we started dating.

Jaquelyn is the most pure, God-loving, and honest woman I have ever met. She is always looking to serve others with any of their needs, not even thinking at all of herself and her own plans. She is very thoughtful in everything that she does, and she inspires me daily to want to do better. When I am with Jaquelyn, I am always in a better mood, because she is always very fun to be around. She can talk to anyone about anything, and she can lovingly speak straight to the point with no beating around the bush, a quality which I admire. She has helped me to become more social, and she always so caring and thoughtful, making sure my needs are met before her own. I am so grateful and glad that God put her into my life.

Jacquelyn and I got engaged on January 1st, 2023, and we plan to be married in October. I am so honored and grateful to our families and to the Godly teachings and amazing friendships at Remnant Fellowship Church for getting us to this phase in life. I am so excited for our future life together, and I pray that God will bless the years ahead, just as they have been to this point.

Jaquelyn:

I have been a member of Remnant Fellowship since I was seven years old. My mother was introduced to the church by my uncle and aunts, Tedd & Candace Anger, Kristine Petralito, and Carol Anger. My family officially joined the church in 2008, while we were living in New York. In summer of 2016, we had the most incredible blessing of getting to move to Tennessee.

Andrew is the sweetest, most humble man I know...a flawless example of level-headedness, joyfulness, and forgiveness. He has such a loving heart toward everyone he meets, which convicts me daily. There is never a time we are together when he doesn’t make me laugh. God has truly used this relationship to not only grow us closer with one another, but to bring us closer and more in love with Him as well.- Jaquelyn

If I did not have the teachings that I have received through our church, I would be so miserable and hopeless. When I first joined as a child, I had a huge heart for God, and my mother guided me to love and learn about all God and to read His word from the Bible. Then when I hit my pre-teen and teen years, I had unfortunately grown to be somewhat complacent and stagnant about actually following Biblical principles, and I no longer looked to the examples I had been shown that bore so much fruit in the lives of others. I let go of my focus and my heart for God, and I picked up a strong sense of anger and judgmentalness. Thankfully during that time, I received so much love and encouragement from my parents, church leaders, family members, and friends at church that I realized I was heading down the wrong path. I also learned that when I love, trust, and follow God’s will, and fully inhibit His Fruits of the Spirit, I can be the best version of myself for Him, and He would pour out blessing after blessing on me.

In 2018, I met Andrew through a mutual group of friends at church, and when he approached me about wanting to date, I said “yes” without any hesitation! He is the sweetest, most humble man I know, and he is always convicting me with how patient he is all the time. He is a flawless example of level-headedness (no matter what is going on in our lives), joyfulness, and forgiveness. He has such a loving heart toward everyone he meets, which convicts me daily. There is never a time we are together when he doesn’t make me laugh. God has truly used this relationship to not only grow us closer with one another, but to bring us closer and more in love with Him as well.

On New Year’s Day this year, Emily (my super-kind, soon to be sister-in-law) asked if Andrew and I wanted to go to Opryland Hotel to take pictures with her and her boyfriend. We had a great time as we walked around, took pictures, and ate lunch. Then, at one point, Andrew and I were alone underneath a gazebo, and he turned to me and said, “Can I ask you a question?” I said, “Yeah, what’s up?” He then pulled a box out of his jacket, dropped to his knee, and said, “Jaquelyn, will you marry me?” I shouted “YES!!!!” It was the most magical moment of my life. I am so incredibly blessed to get to marry Andrew, and I cannot wait to grow together even more spiritually as a couple.

My love and heart for God has grown so much over the past few years, and with DEEP appreciation, I would be so remiss if I did not share how grateful I am for the examples of Ms. Elizabeth Hannah, our seven church leaders who passed away in 2021, my aunt Candace and Uncle Tedd Anger, my aunt Kristine Petralito, and my aunt Carol Anger. They have been amazing examples of all the fruits of the Spirit, and they will continue to inspire Andrew and me as we begin our lives together.
