Harry:
In 2008, my mother began taking Weigh Down when she was looking for a weight loss program. She not only realized she was changing on the outside by losing weight by applying the principles in the classes, but she also found herself growing closer to God through the program. Shortly afterward, she wanted to learn more and visit with others who were seeking to put God first in their lives. In 2010, we visited Tennessee and were able to meet everyone at Remnant Fellowship Church. Shortly after that visit, we joined the church and then eventually moved to Tennessee.
Angela has encouraged me to go further than ever before with my relationship with God, and every day I see the example of her changing and going further herself. Angela is the best blessing God has ever given me... - Harry
A few years after that move, I began to struggle a little in my relationship with God. Eventually, I came to a turning point...I decided to change my heart and focus further on my relationship with God. After I made that decision, I also decided that I didn’t want to date anybody until I felt like I was truly ready. Little did I know that God had other plans for me! It wasn’t long after that decision “not” to date anyone that I met Angela, and it was then I knew that I wanted to get to know her better. It took me a while, but I finally felt like God was leading me to ask her out to dinner.
Every day since, my blessings have increased, and I can say without hesitation that God truly was the One who orchestrated this relationship. Angela has encouraged me to go further than ever before with my relationship with God, and every day I see the example of her changing and going further herself. I can truly say above all else that Angela is the best blessing God has ever given me, and every day I fall more in love with her.
Angela:
I was first introduced to Remnant Fellowship in the beginning of 2014. Unfortunately, I had started my teenage years with a rejection of God. It wasn't until I hit a low spot in late 2014 that I decided to make a true change for the better. I used to have fits of rage, moodiness and self-focus, and overeating. Through taking a Weigh Down class, I learned how to fill my longing for food, control, and self-focus with a personal relationship with God...and it has made life so much better! I am now full of joy! Remnant Fellowship helped me build on that relationship over the past years, and I am full of hope and purpose that I did not have before.
I thank God for this message of love, joy, and obedience to the one true God! Without it, I would never have met the man of my dreams, much less be able to get married to him. Who knew a Godly life could be this much fun?!- Angela
I met Harry for the first time at a party that one of our church friends was hosting. I sat next to him and asked him to tell me about himself. After that night, he asked me out on a date, and I agreed. We had a fun time together, but nothing much came of that date at first. It was not until about six months later that I really started to notice him in a different way—how gentle he was and how much he served God's Kingdom through the church. On our church's Country Dance Night eight months after our first date, he came up to me and offered his hand for a dance. I happily agreed! We danced the night away. And two weeks after we danced, we started dating and falling in love, and it has never stopped.
I thank God for this message of love, joy, and obedience to the one true God! Without it, I would never have met the man of my dreams, much less be able to get married to him. Who knew a Godly life could be this much fun?!
