Their Story...
Josiah:
I want to begin this testimony by expressing my gratitude to those who have faithfully lived lives of wholehearted obedience to God—Gwen Shamblin Lara, Elizabeth Hannah Kaufmann, and her husband, Ryan. Their examples of putting God first have had a profound impact on my family. Without them, my parents may never have seen what it looked like to truly love God with all their hearts and live that out day after day. Their lives—and, for some, even their deaths—continue to be a testimony that has deeply influenced me and my family. I also want to thank leadership, especially Patrick and Amy Stites. They helped me through many difficult tests, and I am very grateful for their selflessness and willingness to help me.
Over the past several years, Raegan has continually inspired me to grow closer to God. She is one of the most loving, hardworking, and selfless people I have ever known. She is always looking for ways to serve those around her and consistently puts others before herself. Every day, her example challenges me to become more like Christ. Her life is marked by kindness, love, patience, and genuine care for others. - Josiah
As my parents witnessed that sincere love for God and began applying those biblical principles to their own lives, everything changed. They desired to be closer to those who were fully devoted to God. My parents made a leap of faith to move from Denver, Colorado, to Tennessee.
Although I was blessed to grow up in Remnant Fellowship, I eventually realized that simply growing up in the church did not automatically mean I was fully relying on God. As I grew older, I found myself struggling with pride, greed, selfishness, and many other sinful attitudes. Through the messages, classes, and convictions God brought into my life, I began seeking Him more sincerely. As I drew closer to God, He gave me the strength to lay down those sins and continue growing in my relationship with Him.
Looking back, I truly believe that if my parents had not made the decision to bring our family to Remnant Fellowship, my life would have been very different. I believe I would have struggled with loneliness, anxiety, depression, and the very sins that God has been teaching me to overcome. Instead, I am incredibly grateful for the relationship with God that I have been taught to pursue. It has given my life purpose, direction, and hope.
As I have sought to follow God and submit to the authorities He has placed in my life, He has blessed me far beyond what I deserve. He allowed me to graduate from Columbia State Community College with an Associates in Anesthesia Technology. I know those blessings came from following Him and being under authority. I truly do not believe I would have found the same purpose or fulfillment apart from God and the teachings I received through Remnant Fellowship.
There are not enough words to express my gratitude to God and to the faithful examples of those who have dedicated their lives to Him. They have shown me what it means to honor God in every area of life, and I thank Him continually for allowing me to learn from their example.
One of the greatest blessings God has given me is Raegan. Her family moved from Ohia to Tennessee in 2013 to be closer to the church. I've known her since then, but we became closer as we had more friends in common.

Her life is marked by kindness, love, patience, and genuine care for others. I have never known her to be harsh or dismissive toward anyone. She is quick to apologize, even when she has done nothing wrong, and she constantly seeks peace and unity. Whether it is serving the church, caring for her family, supporting me, or excelling in her work, she is always asking how she can do better and how she can better please the authorities God has placed over her.
Raegan has never stopped encouraging me or pointing me back to God. I am continually amazed that God would bless me with someone who loves Him so sincerely and encourages me to do the same. I never want to take that gift for granted. Every day I thank God for allowing me to spend the rest of my life with Raegan as my best friend and future wife. She is one of the greatest blessings He has ever given me.
Above all, I am overwhelmed with gratitude to God for His mercy and faithfulness throughout my life. I am thankful for the examples of those who have gone before me, for the way He has worked through Remnant Fellowship to shape my life, and for the countless blessings He has given me. I look forward with excitement and gratitude to continuing to grow closer to Him and serving Him faithfully for many years to come.
Raegan:
I would be remiss if I did not begin this testimony by giving all praise and glory to God Almighty for everything good in my life, but especially for the greatest blessing of all—getting to marry my best friend, Josiah Sanchez! I have had the privilege of spending the majority of my life in this church, and I am so grateful to have grown up learning to put God first in every area of my life, having examples of godly marriages, and being surrounded by people who genuinely love God. I know I would not be where I am today without my parents, BJ and Rayane Holmes, who have continuously put God first in our household and shown my siblings and me how fruitful a life focused on Him can be. I am so thankful for the time my parents have spent, and continue to spend, pouring wisdom, love, and encouragement into my life. I would also like to take a moment to express my gratitude and appreciation for Gwen Shamblin Lara, Elizabeth Hannah Kaufmann, and Patrick and Amy Stites, who have selflessly laid down their lives for God and spent countless hours gently directing me on the Path of Truth. I am honored to have a testimony to share because it reflects the many blessings God has so generously given me, and I am grateful to be a member of Remnant Fellowship Church, which continuously teaches me how to have a relationship with God, through Jesus Christ.
Josiah's heart for God is the quality I admire most about him, His top priority is making God the center of our relationship and ensuring that we honor Him in all that we say and do. He is constantly encouraging me to trust God’s plan, as we know it will always be perfect! His steadfast love for God, his servant's heart, and his commitment to living a life that honors Him make me incredibly grateful and excited to spend the rest of my life by his side. - Raegan
I was born in Newark, Ohio and lived there until the age of 8. My family and I have been members of The Remnant Fellowship Church since October of 2007. My mom began taking Weigh Down classes in the summer of that year and we joined Remnant Fellowship Church shortly thereafter. Growing up in this church, I had the opportunity to witness Gwen Shamblin’s life firsthand, and I knew that is a life I wanted to imitate as she truly loved God day and night. I longed to have that personal connection with him but always kind of relied on my parents’ relationship to keep me spiritual focused. It wasn’t until I was older and met with having to make my own spiritual decision that I felt like that personal relationship with Him truly formed; I was able to feel the peace of being inside Gods will and finding His spirit on my own! That decision led to blessings in every area of my life, and shortly after, I was given my biggest blessing of beginning a relationship with Josiah!
Josiah and I have known each other for most of our lives. We have both had the honor and privilege of growing up in this church, and we have been friends for many years. Throughout that time, I always admired his willingness to serve others. He is constantly looking for ways to meet the needs of those around him, and his strong work ethic is evident in everything he does. It was not until he entered my life as something more than a friend that I was able to see the fullness of who he is. From the very beginning, I knew this was a relationship I never wanted to end. From the start, the relationship was easy and effortless, I was drawn to the fact that we could be silly and have fun, while still having God at the forefront of our relationship. Josiah's heart for God is the quality I admire most about him, His top priority is making God the center of our relationship and ensuring that we honor Him in all that we say and do. He is constantly encouraging me to trust God’s plan, as we know it will always be perfect! His steadfast love for God, his servant's heart, and his commitment to living a life that honors Him make me incredibly grateful and excited to spend the rest of my life by his side. I am honored and find myself with a lack of ways to express my gratitude for the blessings I have received from God and I am extremely excited to live every day counting those blessings!
