Their Story...
Baron:
I would truly be remiss if I did not begin my testimony by giving all glory to God, to the amazing church of Remnant Fellowship that He has blessed me with, and to my family, who all have continually pointed me up to God and His incredible Word. God’s journey for me began in 2014, when my family visited and later became members of Remnant Fellowship Church. Even from a young age, I knew that there was something special taking place at this church. From the church members’ kindness and joyfulness, to the uplifting and passionate music, and especially to the convicting sermons provided by Gwen Shamblin Lara, I felt God was truly blessing my life by allowing me to be a part of such a loving and devoted congregation. The kids my age were never hesitant to include me, and I have developed many close, lasting friendships, which made it easy to be involved in any activities that took place. I have had so much encouragement and support whenever I needed it, which has brought so much peace to my life. God allowed me to learn from others and witness examples of wholehearted devotion that would take me to levels in my relationship with Him that would have been impossible on my own.
I could not imagine being where I am spiritually without someone like Faith to keep me strong...someone who does not waver from the path, who will always back up God and His truth. God has blessed me with a woman who wants the best for absolutely everyone, and a woman who will step in immediately whenever there is a need to be met. - Baron
In 2016, my family moved from our previous residency of Gallatin, Tennessee, to the city of Franklin so that we would be closer to the church, which allowed us to be much more involved with weekly church activities and youth events. Once we moved, my brother and I also began homeschooling and attending the church homeschool co-op. I see this as a huge blessing in my life, because it allowed me to grow closer to my brother, as well as being able to be around great role-models and involved in exciting classes with my friends. .
Around this time is when God allowed me to become friends with Faith Beld. Everyone knew Faith—she was always kind, fun, in the middle of the pack, and would talk to anyone. She made everyone feel important and cared for, and there was not a time when I felt I didn’t belong while interacting with Faith. We always had a good bond with one another, and I always looked up to her as an example of “going for it” regarding her relationship with God. You could tell that she would not want to ever miss a church assembly, a social gathering, or any opportunity to connect with others. Over time of just interacting as friends, God allowed me to grow more interested in Faith personally. As far back as 2019, I was seeking any opportunity to be able to get to know her better, mainly as we hung out in our friend groups, to see where God would take it. God was always so generous with allowing me to have sweet interactions with Faith as we hung out as friends, which I truly thank Him for, because I was able to learn more about who Faith Beld genuinely was. .
Throughout this process, God made it a priority that I look to Him first and allow Him to take the reins of any possibility regarding a relationship with Faith. With only a couple of trial and errors, a lot of maturing mentally and spiritually, and the approval of our parents, God allowed our relationship to begin in December of 2021. Once Faith and I began dating, we immediately felt blessings flowing in. Everything seemed to click, and we were truly able to understand each other, which would have been impossible without the message of love and thankfulness continually being taught at Remnant Fellowship. Faith and I are so grateful for the infinite amount of truth that is taught here, for caring church leaders we are able to go to whenever there is a need or a question, and for hundreds of Godly examples to keep us accountable and pointed up on a daily basis. .
I am so utterly excited to be able to marry such a woman as Faith. I could not imagine being where I am spiritually without someone like Faith to keep me strong...someone who does not waver from the path, who will always back up God and His truth. God has blessed me with a woman who doesn’t have a lazy bone in her body, a woman who is always doing what God has led her to do through His Spirit, a woman who wants the best for absolutely everyone, and a woman who will step in immediately whenever there is a need to be met. .
I praise God for His Son, Jesus Christ, for it is Christ’s amazing and precious example that Faith and I strive each day to follow. I praise God for our friends and family who have so graciously been there for us countless times, pointing us in the right direction. I praise God for this church, for it has provided Faith and me the building blocks to build our personal, sweet relationships with God, which allowed us to come to this point today. Lastly, I praise God for Faith, who is the essence of a Proverbs 31 God-fearing woman, a woman who never ceases to bring me eternal amounts of joy, and a woman I cannot wait to marry on May 11th. .
"Many women do noble things, but you surpass them all. Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting; but a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised. Honor her for all that her hands have done, and let her works bring her praise at the city gate." – Proverbs 31:29-31
Faith:
I feel fortunate that by the time I was born, my family were already members of Remnant Fellowship Church, so I was truly able to grow up here. My dear Grandmother Ruth was a participant in Weigh Down as far back as 1999, and my parents witnessed her whole life being transformed for the better through the beautiful teaching of love and seeking God’s Will. Being a part of Remnant and hearing so much true teaching from God’s Word made such a great impact on our entire family that my parents, Joel and Carrie Beld, relocated to Tennessee in 2004. It allowed me and my sisters to be surrounded with an upright and sweet group of friends who were being raised the same way. For my entire childhood, I had the opportunity to be a part of this loving community, and for this I am truly grateful. The Biblical lessons and teachings I learned here have protected me from making wrong decisions and have guided me towards seeking God's Will in all areas of life. I cherish the fact that my earliest memories have been built in this place, surrounded by the dearest of friends, most of whom I have known for years!
Our relationship grows stronger and stronger every day, and we are definitely better together than we were apart. Baron makes me a better person each day by his faith and commitment to God and His Word, which keeps me very hopeful for our marriage and a future together. I look forward to the blessings God has in store for us... - Faith
The greatest gift given to us by Mrs. Gwen Shamblin Lara’s faithful teachings is a true, personal connection with the Almighty God. I am still in awe of how incredible, compassionate, and amazing our God truly is. Witnessing Gwen's constant love and devotion to God from a young age, I knew that was the type of relationship I desired to have with Him. Through every church service, God has guided my growth through conviction and refinement. The multiple resources we have been given are beyond measure. I give glory to God each day for opening my ears to the Truth and inspiring me to make changes where needed so I can be the best I can be. This church truly shows the power of God's love!! .
I have known Baron for several years. He and his family joined Remnant in 2014. I have always thought Baron was very easy to talk to and always non-judgmental. He was so humorous that he could put a smile on anyone’s face, and he was friends with everyone! Baron never wanted anything from the world, so he never strayed from this teaching of putting God first. He had such strength and devotion to God, which I truly admired. He was the best listener and had so much wisdom. He was such an example of putting God first and learning all he could at church. Baron was everything I wanted to be more like! .
Before our relationship began, I knew that Baron had an interest in me before I was ready to commit to him. At the time, I was focusing on self-improvement and trying to overcome some anxious tendencies. I recognized that I needed to turn to God for peace, as He is the source of all blessings! What really impressed me about Baron during this time period is that he never gave up on me, and he was always there for me to talk to when needed. When I was starting to be interested in Baron, I heard someone at the church speaking very highly of him, and I felt like God wanted me to hear that, like He was pointing me to Baron. .
In late 2021, Baron and I went on our first real date, and in 2022, we became an official couple. Since that time, Baron has always been so patient and thoughtful, which has really made me realize that this relationship is truly a gift from God. I have never felt so at peace and cared for as I feel with Baron. I am amazed at God’s genius—He has brought us together to be refined, sharpened, and thoughtfully cared for by one another! .
I am so grateful for Baron, and I am grateful for how my whole family is very supportive and think Baron is a perfect match for me. My family loves how Baron always wants to do what is right and isn’t afraid to stand up for God. Our relationship grows stronger and stronger every day, and we are definitely better together than we were apart. Baron makes me a better person each day by his faith and commitment to God and His Word, which keeps me very hopeful for our marriage and a future together! .
Both of us are incredibly grateful for Elizabeth Hannah, Gwen Shamblin Lara, and our supportive church leaders for guiding us on the path towards God's Kingdom. It is a great privilege to reach this stage in life and to become Baron's wife. I am certain that if we continue to seek God's Will, our marriage will bring glory to Him and last a lifetime. I look forward to the blessings God has in store for us and am so humbled and thankful to marry my beloved Baron Charles.
