Camren McNeal:
Growing up, my family was always hopping from church to church, looking for one that would truly bring us closer as a family, and more importantly, closer to God. During that time, I had no desire to attend any church, let alone have a relationship with God. Ashamedly, there were times where I would even fake being asleep or sick to avoid going to church.
This continued until about 2015 when I noticed my mother was watching a church service from home. She had done this before with other churches, but this time was very different. I saw that my mother was changing, not just physically, but mentally and spiritually. She had always been loving and kind to me and to my siblings, but it was at a completely different level than before—and not only that, but she was also losing a lot of weight and feeling better physically. I was curious about the cause of all these good changes, and then she introduced me to Weigh Down and Remnant Fellowship Church.
Bethany was everything I had prayed for and more! She was beautiful inside and out, always pointing me back to God and making sure I was seeking His will in such a sweet and gentle way. Bethany’s ability to get along with everyone and bring people closer is something I greatly admire and something that convicts me greatly. She is such a powerhouse for God, and my love for her grows every day!- Camren
I was so happy for my mom, but I still didn’t have a desire myself to go to church or grow closer to God. After a few months, my mom started encouraging me to watch the church assemblies with her, so I did. After only a few weeks of watching, I started feeling something changing in my heart. It was a feeling I had never felt before! I knew this was what my family had been looking for and what we needed. Gwen Lara was different—she truly had a deep connection with God, and this God-first relationship showed through all of her amazing sermons.
In 2016, I made the decision to join Remnant Fellowship, and that summer I had the amazing opportunity to go to Tennessee and get confirmed and baptized on my birthday! It was truly a rebirth and new start in my life. My family and I would continue visiting the church in person whenever we could, and then in October of 2017, we were finally able to move to Tennessee, and our lives have been truly blessed ever since then! As a family, we have become closer and more loving toward each other every day, and we all had made very big changes in our hearts and lives.
I had no clue that the power of prayer could be so life-changing until becoming a part of this church, and something I began praying for as I got older was to be in a relationship and eventually find a Godly wife. Gwen Lara always taught that being in a relationship wasn’t just about finding the right person but also being the right person, so I knew I first had to make sure I was living the life God wanted me to live. I had struggles that were still in my heart, such as selfishness, laziness, and immaturity, that I knew I had to work on, so I used the “at home” slower time of 2020 as alone time with God for inner refinement and growing closer to Him.
Later that year, in September of 2020, God allowed me to meet Bethany through church. Bethany and I spent time getting to know each other, and eventually we started dating. She was everything I had prayed for and more! She was beautiful inside and out, always pointing me back to God and making sure I was seeking His will in such a sweet and gentle way. Bethany’s ability to get along with everyone and bring people closer is something I greatly admire and something that convicts me greatly. She is such a powerhouse for God, and my love for her grows every day! After over a year of dating, God allowed me to propose to Bethany and ask for her hand in marriage! She is the biggest blessing in my life, and I can’t wait to continue to build up God’s Kingdom with her by my side as my wife. I know that without God and these amazing teachings from Gwen Lara on how to live a fully-devoted Christian life, none of this would be possible, and I am eternally grateful!
Bethany Pacheco:
I have had the amazing blessing of being raised in this church since the age of three when my family moved from Orlando, Florida, to Nashville, Tennessee! I grew up with the teaching of putting God first and making Him your best friend, and I had so many examples around me to follow. Being able to witness the constant blessings was amazing.
After I was confirmed and baptized at 13, I started to understand the true meaning of making God my everything and making sure He was at the forefront of my thoughts. I didn’t truly understand how big the difference was between the life I was blessed with and what the world was experiencing until I started my first job. I began to witness the pain that people were going through because they didn’t have a purpose or a reason to be anything better than the bare minimum. There was no bar to reach for, no real reason to go above and beyond. I started to realize how great an opportunity I had and how blessed I was to have true purpose and a goal in life—building a relationship with God and seeking eternal life following the example of Jesus Christ. I received favor in my jobs because I put in to practice the teaching I learned at Remnant Fellowship, the teaching to look to your authorities and please your bosses by giving 100%.
Camren has never wavered in his dedication and his ability to focus on keeping God first in every aspect of his life. Customers have noticed his spirit, and he has been told that they can tell he is a Christian! He radiates joy, and people are quick to notice. Camren was and continues to be an amazing blessing, and I’m so excited to become his wife.- Bethany
My parents have been my best blessing, because they moved our family here and dedicated their lives to the church! They have guided me and redirected me whenever I was becoming complacent, and they have always been there for me in times of testing. I’m so grateful for their gentle guidance and their commitment to making sure my siblings and I are pointed straight back to God and His Word!
God has truly blessed my life so far, and I was even more blessed to meet my future husband in this church! When I started dating Camren, I was impressed by his ability to become friends with anyone and everyone. Seeing the respect he had for his authorities and bosses was such an amazing example to follow as I continued to apply it in my own life. He has never wavered in his dedication and his ability to focus on keeping God first in every aspect of his life. Customers have noticed Camren’s spirit, and he has been told that they can tell he is a Christian! He radiates joy, and people are quick to notice.
Camren was and continues to be an amazing blessing, and I’m so excited to become his wife. I know that God will continue to bless our relationship as we make Him our main focus! I’m beyond excited to walk through this life with Camren as my partner and best friend, but most importantly, as the leader of our household.
