Their Story...

Billy Whitney:

Like many other Remnant Fellowship members who are my age, I first learned about Remnant Fellowship through my mom. She found these teachings and brought them home to our family in 2005. We are eternally grateful that she did find this Truth as it has led to a very blessed life! Since growing up in the Church through my teenage years, I’m very grateful for the guidance and love that has been shown to me. I’ve learned and seen first-hand the blessings from putting what is taught here into practice. There were many times that I came to crossroads in my life where I had to make a decision on how I want to live my life and I knew that this was where I wanted to be. I’ve learned how to put others above myself, which brings the greatest joy. I have learned what it means to focus on God and lean on Him during the hard times. It hasn’t always been easy to choose the path less traveled, but I am thankful to be here.

There are not enough words to express our gratitude for what we have learned at Remnant Fellowship about what a Godly relationship looks like, and without it, we would be lost. I knew that I wanted to spend the rest of my life with Emily because she stood by my side through the good times and the testing times.- Billy

God is over the top kind to allow Emily and I to get married. We have learned so much throughout our dating time together about what a Godly relationship looks like. There are so many examples around us who have shown us how to put each other above ourselves. We have learned to look inward and change our own heart instead of projecting onto each other. There are not enough words to express our gratitude for what we have learned at Remnant Fellowship about what a Godly relationship looks like, and without it, we would be lost. I knew that I wanted to spend the rest of my life with Emily because she stood by my side through the good times and the testing times. I wanted our engagement to be a special moment shared between us but also knew it was a desire of her heart to have a picture of it; so our dear friends captured the moment. I’m so thankful she said yes and wanted to spend her life with me! I have no fear of our future as long as we stay connected in this Truth that we get to hear at Remnant Fellowship.

Emily Harrington:

My testimony begins back in 2013 when I was introduced to Remnant Fellowship by the beloved BJ and Rayane Holmes family. Maryssa had always been a dear friend of mine and offered an opportunity for me to come to Tennessee to go to a Wedding at her Church. Little did I know that this Wedding, which happened to be the Shane Polivka/Margaret Langsdon Wedding, would be the most glorious and beautiful Wedding that I had ever witnessed. I did not fully understand all that the Remnant Fellowship believed, and it was clear that my time to be able to hear the message had not come yet. A year later, I visited again for Summer Day Camp and I was very convicted by the love and joy in the children and what was being taught at this Camp. I was seeing young children get low before God and pray the most heartfelt and loving prayers to God Almighty. I had never witnessed people have this personal connection with God like I saw at Day Camp.

After the Camp experience, I was very charged to learn more about this Church and wanted this personal relationship with God that I saw lived out by the members of Remnant Fellowship. I quickly learned that God could be your best friend and I learned how to lean on God through all the testing times. I had to learn to let go of worry, anxiety, and I learned how to have faith that God’s Will is what will be done and with that, peace has been brought into my life. God has truly become the rock in my life and when my dad passed away in 2015, the only thing I knew was that God was in control and that I needed to lean on Him during that time of grief. I know that I have further to go in this relationship with God, but I am so grateful for the Truth that is taught here at Remnant Fellowship, and because of this Truth, I have no fear of the future as long as I’m focused on God!

I met Billy at our Passover Festival in 2015 when we were introduced to each other by a couple of our friends. At this point I still lived in Ohio, and so over the course of a few months, Billy and I got to know each other as friends. As I learned more about Billy, his servant’s heart was so clear to me and truly convicted me to always be looking for ways that I could serve others. We started our relationship when I moved here later that year and I grew more in love with him and his heart for God. He is a “jack of all trades.” I truly believe there is not a single thing he cannot fix, and he uses this gift to serve our friends and family! He honestly amazes me when he will text me late at night and say he is off to help someone with an urgent need when he is likely exhausted from a long day’s work. I cannot thank God enough for bringing this man into my life! Billy proposed to me in the sweetest way. He took me down to a waterfall near his house and that is where he asked me to be his wife. It was such a special moment and I’m still in awe today. I am completely honored that he would want to spend the rest of his days with me and I cannot wait to see all that God has in store for us!
