Their Story...
Micah Hord:
I want to start off by thanking God for the opportunity to share. I am extremely grateful for where I am today, and I want to give credit to God Almighty for all He has done in my life. My family joined Remnant Fellowship in 2003, and subsequently moved us to Tennessee a year later when I was 6 years old.
I grew up attending this church, and I had the opportunity to witness families putting God first in their lives. As the years passed, I saw firsthand that when people focused on a relationship with God, their lives were peaceful, loving, and blessed. I wanted to be like those I knew who had given up their own selfish desires to live for God, and in return God would give back blessings ten-fold. I wanted to experience that also, but I knew that I was not completely laying down my own self-focused wants and desires.
Hannah is the most beautiful and stunning woman. She is a shining light, and I fell in love with her joyful, giving, and loving heart, and I wanted to be more like her.- Micah
Through the incredible teachings of Gwen Lara, I knew I had to put into practice what I was hearing for there to be a true change in my life. Only I could alter my own life—I had to take accountability and take action. While in college, I turned my heart towards God and didn’t look back. I surrounded myself with friends who loved God, friends who would encourage me in the right direction. The blessings were abundant, and I finally discovered that joy that comes from a personal relationship with God!
I met Hannah in the spring of 2018, and my life changed even more for the better. I was attracted to her after talking to her just one time, and knew I wanted to date her. Hannah was everything I wanted in a wife! She is the most beautiful and stunning woman. She is a shining light, and I fell in love with her joyful, giving, and loving heart, and I wanted to be more like her. Our relationship has grown stronger and stronger every day. God has blessed us so much, and we are so thankful for our church leaders and the friends we have who point us up to God.
In December of 2021, I proposed to Hannah. I took her to the Gaylord Opryland outdoor skating rink, and there I asked her to marry me and to spend the rest of our lives together. I cannot wait for what God has in store for our future together!
Hannah Welch:
I have been blessed to be a part of Remnant Fellowship since I was very young when my mom, Christy Welch, joined in 2002. However, it wasn’t until after I had finished high school that I resolved to make it my very own. At that time, I decided to move to Tennessee from Washington state to be closer to the people whom I could see were living it out and following a better path than the one I was on.
Since truly deciding to put the lessons taught at this church into practice, I learned to focus on the needs of others, rather than to think only about myself. I learned to love and appreciate my parents, rather than see them as negative obstacles. I learned how to exchange depression for peace and joy. And all of this happened because of the loving, caring and overwhelming support that comes from being a part of Remnant Fellowship. I have never had so many wonderful people whom I could turn to for wisdom, guidance, and positive encouragement as I have in this church community.
Micah is tender-hearted, thoughtful and extremely supportive. Getting a hug from Micah is the best thing in the whole world, relieving all my worries in a heartbeat. He also is extremely steadfast in his faith of our church, always striving to be under authority and responsible. - Hannah
Shortly after moving to Tennessee, I met Micah, the love of my life. We were playing volleyball with some of the youth group (and I was not very good at it) but I was impressed by the handsome, strong man with the beautiful green eyes. As we talked, we found we both had a love of science , engineering, and many other things. Getting to know each other more, I learned that not only is Micah genuinely the smartest, most brilliant man that I know, but he is also tender-hearted, thoughtful and extremely supportive. When I am worried, he is calm, reasonable and reassuring. Getting a hug from Micah is the best thing in the whole world, relieving all my worries in a heartbeat. He also is extremely steadfast in his faith of our church, always striving to find God’s Will and to be responsible. I am so excited to be able to spend our lives together in the midst of this beautiful body of believers; those who are truly choosing to follow Christ. I cannot believe the examples of the families that we get to follow, and I am so grateful for all they have done. I genuinely have no doubt that if we put into practice the teachings of this church, we also will have a long and happy marriage.
I can’t wait to establish a home with the love of my life, Micah Hord, and I owe it all to this church and being able to experience the results that happen when you choose to make God and his Son, Jesus Christ, the priorities in your life.
