Before I begin, I would like to first express my gratitude to God Almighty and His Son, Jesus Christ, for giving me the opportunity to be here today. Without Him, I would not be here today, and I would not have the greatest honor and blessing of marrying Gweneth Hannah.
Next, I want to also give credit to Gwen Shamblin Lara and Elizabeth Hannah Kaufmann for their amazing influence in guiding me towards a relationship with God from a very early age. Their examples of righteousness and purity along with the hours and hours that they each have personally invested into helping me with my own relationship with God.
Gweneth has always raised the bar for me and convicted me to go further in my own walk with God. Gweneth is the perfect example of purity and makes me a better man every day. - Wesley
As I write this testimony, tears fill my eyes when I think about what God has done. I don’t know how God has allowed me to marry Gweneth Analese, who is the most amazing, loving, and righteous woman, but I cherish this opportunity more than anything else. I know I do not deserve any of the blessings in my life, but I am especially undeserving of a wife that is “worth far more than rubies” as described in Proverbs 31:10. Gweneth has always been the example to me, and I am honored that I get to become her husband.
When my parents, Patrick and Amy Stites, moved to Nashville over 30 years ago, my mother started working for WeighDown Ministries. They then joined the Remnant Fellowship Church in its very early years before I was born. This has given me the sweetest opportunity to grow up in the Remnant Fellowship. I often praise God that my parents had the faith to follow what God called for them because it has produced so much fruit in my life. I want to thank and honor them because without them, I would not be the man I am today and I would not have grown up in such a loving community of love.
Since I had the honor of being raised in this church, I grew up surrounded by righteous, loving examples that helped guide me to God in every situation. Years of priceless and profound teachings have always taught me what a relationship with God is and how to truly lay down sin. If it were not for this amazing church, I would not be here today able to testify about what God has done in my life and I would not have met the love of my life, Gweneth Analese.
When Gweneth and I started dating, it was immediately evident that she had every quality that I could ever ask for in a wife. She loved God first and that made her the most attractive woman I’d ever met. Her love for God and for those around her was so evident that I knew there was no one else I’d rather spend the rest of my life with. I praise God every day that he has allowed me to find someone that is always under authority and looking for His will. Gweneth has always raised the bar for me and convicted me to go further in my own walk with God. Gweneth is the perfect example of purity and makes me a better man every day. I don’t know where I would be without her contagious laughter and her loving, righteous spirit.
In Proverbs 18, it says that “He who finds a wife finds what is good.” I am humbled every day that God has allowed me to find a pure wife and find what is good. One of my favorite things about Gweneth is she has always been, and continues to be, my biggest supporter. Whether it is cheering me on during a soccer game or praying over my day, Gweneth has never showed anything but complete love and admiration for me and what I was doing. What more could you ask for as a husband? As our relationship has progressed and gotten closer to the start of a lifelong journey together, I have watched Gweneth become the exact woman that Proverbs 31:10 describes. In turn, it has spurred me on in my relationship with God and made me fall even deeper in love with the girl of my dreams.
I am so thankful to God and his son Jesus Christ that I have the opportunity to share what He has done for me. I do not deserve anything, but I am so humbled and honored to spend the rest of my life together with Gweneth. I truly feel like we will be stronger together than we are apart. I am so grateful for the constant support and love that I have received from my grandparents, my aunts and uncles, cousins, and all of my amazing family. To my siblings, Caroline, Arden, William, and Reed, I want you all to know that I can’t thank you enough for your love and support. I love each of you dearly.
Finally, I would like to thank the members of this church, all my friends, and my peers for the role that each of you have played in my life. I am so eternally grateful for each of you. I would like to start first by saying how incredibly honored and overjoyed I am to be getting to marry the absolute love of my entire life, Wesley Teal. Next, I would like to say how truly grateful I am for this life, for I know I would not be where I am today if it weren’t for God Almighty, Jesus Christ, and the incredibly righteous Leaders of the Remnant Fellowship Church. Secondly, I would like to thank the entire Remnant Fellowship Church, my Gigi (Gwen Shamblin Lara) who founded it, and my incredibly inspiring mother, Elizabeth Shamblin Kaufmann, who currently leads our Church and has been the most constant and encouraging example of how to live a life that glorifies God!
I cannot express my gratitude enough that God has given me a truly righteous man, as that was always my biggest attribute I prayed for in a husband. God has truly given me everything I could have ever asked for, and more, in Wesley. - Gweneth
My Gigi founded the Remnant Fellowship Church over 20 years ago based on teaching us how to love God first, how to have a personal relationship with Him, and how to put His wants and needs before our own. This message she taught was directly from The Bible, and I cannot state clearly enough just how much it has blessed my life. On top of teaching others how to live a life for God, she herself walked it out daily. I got the incredible honor of growing up very close to my Gigi, and she was always such a joy to be around. She was always mercifully there through my sufferings and stumbles and was a tremendous help in teaching me to be a Godly woman and wife. I do not know where I would be without her amazing example and without her taking the time to love and teach me what she learned from The Bible. My Gigi was also one of the few people (alongside my mother, father, and Amy and Patrick Stites) who knew of my life-long love that I had for Wesley. She was one of our biggest supporters, and she loved and supported our relationship from the beginning.
I also would like to thank my late father, Brandon Hannah, who will always be an incredible example to me in many ways. He taught me so much while he was here on this earth, and he also showed me what it was to be an incredible husband and father. He was a steadfast example of living like Christ every single day that he was with us, and I am forever grateful for his example of righteousness.
I am also extremely blessed to now have a second father in Ryan Kaufmann. He is the most loving father-figure and is always checking on the needs of my mother and our entire family. His example as a father and a husband has been so amazing to watch. I will be eternally grateful to both of these men for their amazing examples and Christ-like lives.
Next, I would like to thank my incredible mother, Elizabeth Shamblin Kaufmann, who has steadfastly continued this Message of Love inside our Church, and I cannot put into words the impact she has made on my life. Not only has she laid down her life entirely for God and His Church, but she has also been the most amazing mother and best friend to me for my entire life. I have watched as she constantly serves everyone else above herself with so much joy and contentment. No matter what storms come her way, she is always, always, always happily and joyfully serving others. She puts herself last without a second thought. She has an immense amount of wisdom and an incredibly discerning spirit that only further proves her Connection to God Almighty. She has not only spent countless hours helping and guiding me to be a Godly and righteous woman, but she has, and continues to, help countless others. I can say with full assurance that she spends her entire life and time proving her love for God by her daily words and deeds. She is not only the most excellent example, but she has been the most incredibly loving and merciful mother to me. And her example as a wife has affected who I will become in the most positive way. I see her daily being completely in love with Ryan, and I watch her every minute serving him and his needs because of her deep love and selflessness. I can only pray to be a fraction of who she is as a mother, a wife, and a Leader. I truly pray that my life will be a reflection of her in every way. My mom was also an immense help in Wesley and I’s relationship from the beginning. As I have said earlier, she was one of the few people who knew that, starting at a very young age, I had developed an adorable crush on Wesley, and she was always so supportive of any and all of my emotions and dreams. She would always stop to listen to my thoughts and needs, and she was extremely helpful all throughout my teenage and dating years. Wesley and I have received years of strategic guidance in The Lord from my mother, and I do not know where we would be without her!
I would also like to thank Wesley’s family - Patrick and Amy Stites and their children. I am so grateful to be joining an incredibly fun and righteous family. Patrick and Amy were also some of the few that knew how long I have loved Wesley, and they have always been so loving and supportive. I am also very grateful to be gaining some of the most fun people as my siblings!! They all truly feel like my own siblings, and I am so grateful to be in a family of such fun, loving, and Godly people! Not to mention that Patrick and Amy have been members of this Church since the beginning and have worked very closely with my Gigi and my parents, which makes this join of families even more exciting! They have also been amazing examples how to lead a selfless, righteous, and upright marriage, and I am so grateful for them and their family.
I also want to thank my amazing siblings, Grace, Gloria, and Charles Grantham, for being my built-in best friends! I am proud to say that we are each other’s best friends and biggest supporters, and this comes deeply from the heart. And I am also so grateful that all my siblings truly love Wesley like a brother, and Wesley has been so loving to each of them.
Lastly, I want to say how extremely excited I am to be marrying the one and only love of my life, as well as my best friend! Wesley has, throughout our entire relationship, constantly been righteous, humble, hard-working, generous, funny, wise, and loving. Not a day goes by that he is not asking me what he can do for me, or for this incredible church. He calls me daily so that we can pray together and ask God to bless our day and our relationship, and to lead us where He needs us that day. Wesley is truly the most righteous man that I know and that is what drew me to him and made me fall so in love with him. I get the immense privilege working for the church, and he has been my biggest supporter in that, as well. When any opportunity arises for me to get to help with anything for the church or others, he is the first to encourage me and uphold me in that. He himself is always serving others in any and every way possible. He is the first to jump when any need arises, and it is such an inspiration to me. He is also the first to seek out God’s lead in every area. There have been many a situation in which something was out of our hands, and he is always so quick to remind me that God will take care of us, and not to worry.
